Seven ways I used my iPhone on Vacation

I am traveling on vacation, which is a great time to use your iPhone. Here are seven things I did with my iPhone the first few days. The iPhone is an amazing device. I am still always amazed at all you can do with a little device that fits into your pocket.

Used Google Maps to get a travel route. Turns out the routing had a few problems, but it was good enough to get me there. The routing probably wasn’t wrong but it wasn’t the most direct path through some of the cities. The coolest and very helpful feature is being able to use the GPS to see were you are on the route. If you are traveling somewhere (like the mountains) you might want to print out the directions, just in case the mobile phone reception is not great.
Used the weather app to check on the temperature of our destination. It was 17 degrees at 6:45 am when we left home to head to the mountains.
Use Email to check on and resolve a few problems at work. It’s great to be able to stay up with what is going on at work (ok not everyone thinks so). In this case I was able to forward the emails to others so the work got done even though I was on vacation.
Used Tweetie to keep up with all the tweets from my friends. Wouldn’t want to miss out on the all the current buzz.
Used text messaging to send my daughter, who was several hours behind us on the road, the address of the condo were are staying in.
Used Google maps to find my current location, search for a restaurant my wife had heard about, and call it to make a reservation. Got the reservation and the food was pretty good. I really like using Google maps as a phonebook.
Used the camera to take a pictures and email the picture to my boss so he would know I had survived the first day of skiing.

I have used my iPhone other ways (like making calls and listening to tunes), but seven is enough.
